I liked it. It seemed very atypical for the bible (though this was my first time reading a book in its entirety it was not by first time reading passages from it). It seemed more pessimistic and far less moralizing than the bible typically is.

it's an eye to the fact that we're not in the middle of any new existential crisis. we've always been coping with agita/angst. it's one of my favorite texts along with proverbs/job/john.

not necessarily from a pure accuracy perspective, but it's the most poetic. kind of like pope's translations of the iliad/odyssey. he reworked some things here and there to make it sound better, and ultimately, he was right to do it.
