That's the strongest possible connection there is. Why obscure it with some vague "familial" thing, which could mean a dead uncle?
But I do agree that sending cover letter and resume directly to firms is the way to go. |

If you have 3+ years in CA corp BigLaw you can write your ticket to any firm. Still in decent shape if you're a shitigator but will depend more on the quality of firm you're coming from.

I started out doing shitigation but I'm now doing mostly environmental, public agency, and water stuff. Been seeing a lot of shitigation openings but not much enviro. I'm flying out there next week for a couple screener interviews
I took and passed the AZ bar and I hope that'll help me out
