Is Military Service Still Credited/Prestigious?

That said, after spending 4 years in, it becomes a time sink.
I think the military should offer a 1 year service option with a guaranteed job so more people will serve and then people would be less willing to let the government be the world's police knowing how that gets people needlessly maimed/killed. |

"National Call to Service" enlistees spent about a year on active duty following training (which generally made for about a year and a half to two years of full-time service, total), with a follow-on period in the reserve. Kind of like serving in local elected office. Usually filled w TTT's but paired w right background good accent to a resume. ROTC programs at elite colleges are soooo CR and should be pushed even harder by every branch. Anyone interested in this should read Leonard woods speeches.
