EM would suck dick because i'd have to work as a "team". i like surgery because at least i'm in control of the outcomes, even if you deal with other BS. it seems more fulfilling. damn i thought urology was a little better compared to other surgical specialties? like the personalities you work with, at least. i'm between uro and ophtho, but i feel like the latter is too high-volume and subject to medicare cuts. if all salaries were equal, why would people still gun for those pressure cooker surgical subspecialties and take on that liability? i think PCPs (and maybe EM and psych) will be progressively eroded by midlevels and salaries will go down across the board, but with a persisting disparity between specialties |
