I don't think there's anyone who doesn't think we should jail or deport all violent felons.
And I don't think there's anyone who doesn't want a fully secured border. The problem is Cons are never proposing a tax increase to fund it (could be paid by employers maybe?). And they won't cut defense funding for it. So it always ends up where their argument is to use a huge amount of public money that's *already* designated to helping a lot of the most vulnerable people and has already been cut to the bone. Plus, it's obviously basically designed to be a jobs program for southern con states. What sort of choice is that?
The time to secure the border would have been during W, but he was too busy giving all the rich their taxes back. |
