running own business is insanely stressful

Although it got easier and less stressful when I hired a tax attorney/CPA and actually started following the rules.
In the beginning I was paying 5 employees by check and I messed up on the withholding taxes. I thought IRS was going to nail me but I reached a settlement and we are all good now.
It pisses me off how many companies pay their employees under the table and are breaking tax law though |

it's always worked out so far but i'm pretty worried that i'll get caught levered up by the next recession and have to restructure my loans or go bankrupt.
this + fact that it's a regulated industry makes it very stressful.
i could get a decent job if things fall apart (provided they don't fall apart during a downturn) but i'm really terrible at wage slavery--after six months i start hating my life and cutting corners, and at high-end jobs you can't cut corners for long. |
