I don't read HB's self interested BS, but I do know he once peddled the idea that in-house prefers people directly from firms over other in-house people. While *we* would love some firm experience, we require in-house experience.
Anyone who has worked at a firm and in-house can attest to how completely different the two jobs are. |

Date: July 23rd, 2015 9:07 PM Author: heady spot Fascinating to read this guy's articles. Sometimes he honestly seems to be spitting the cold hard truth that others are too polite, dumb or dishonest to provide. Other times, he seems to be motivated by self-interest.
For example, in one article he ranks the top law schools based on how well the graduates do in corporate law. He really seemed to dig into the cultures of the different schools and the typical characteristics of students there, for example noting that many Berkeley grads go into Biglaw but fail because they are too liberal to work for corporate clients or that Duke students often burn out because they party too hard.
UVa was listed as the third best school at preparing students for Biglaw, and I took that declaration seriously. Then, a few days later, I read that Barnes went to UVa. LOL. |
