regarding colonies you are right that english have a much better track record but they were a mercantile island which gave them some advantages over France/HRE. Also the most successful english colonies (AUS/NZ/CAN/USA) happened because they were new world territories populated by white europeans where as French and Germany didnt have that luxury of having new world colonies
Your argument falls apart when you look at places like Bangladesh/Pakistan (english colonies) which are SPS compared to Vietnam (french colony) |

so all colonies with white europeans flourished while the rest went TTT.
so no point in giving major credit to British which is the point I was making. it was not because British had some secret sauce that France/Germany didnt have |
