the URM bump is huge, although she did not say it explicitly because it's a sensitive topic.
she also said that although booth is continually improving, they still have a hard time getting top finance folks from NYC. they are trying to get more of the east coast ivy league flavor like hbs, wharton, columbia, and are using scholarship money to lure them in. even then, many of them for some reason don't want to be in chicago for b-school. |

most people i know even at top B schools rushed on their essays right up until the deadline; i've had multiple bschool students say that they basically lied on their admissions essays because they had no clue what they wanted to do post-MBA.
i think that a good undergrad + working for the "right" company (doesn't have to be goldman or mckinsey) helps A LOT and can even overcome a weak gmat. |

was gonna hire a consultant on the 'comprehensive' package but seems like a rip off for what u get... may just do hourly for essay editing, etc.
don't wanna apply to like 10 schools, but think it's arrogant to consider booth a 'safety' too. |
