Had never been told not to attend calls on that deal, but perhaps the one partner had said something to the other about it.
I assume that it was for billing reasons (which is why it was said in front of the client), since there were already two partners on the call. |

I was invited by another attorney in the office to sit in on a litigation strategy meeting regarding a now-very-well-known multi-billion dollar case at the time that the parties were involved in settlement discussions. Head of the office sort did a silent double-take when he saw me at the meeting, but he was nice enough to wait until after the meeting to politely ask the attorney who had invited me to send me a simply worded follow-up email letting me know that I was not invited to future meetings about that case.
