stop being a retard
there is incredible cross pollination across MIT/S/B. The head of EECS at MIT is a Berkeley lifer (UG and PhD) for fck sake. he also wrote one of the most important papers in low power vlsi design.
at the UG level Berkeley is a big public state school albeit with tougher admission/graduation standards. your argument might be somewhat true there but for PhDs the professors do care and work closely with students.
