invest in the stock market? How much initial case is needed. What is the credited path to making money in investing? I opened an investment account already.

step 1: Read the intelligent investor and basic stock market concepts

step 2: avoid high fees/comissions

step 3: use index funds if you want zero thought/effort OR buy high quality individual stocks you understand.

index funds just track an index - i.e they own a proportional amount of every stock in said index.

So lets say there is a "US Defense Sector" index fund - it would own shares, in a number weighted by the size of the company, of all the companies involved in the US defense industry.

So for a SPY index (The biggest index fund) it owns all the stocks in the S&P

Advising a non-professional trader to "buy high quality individual stocks you understand" is flame, but giving that advice to somebody who is asking questions this basic is *egregious* flame. Vanguard index funds all the way.

Just do vanguard index funds. It's damn near impossible to beat the market in the long term.

CR. If it's a tax advantaged account I might advise vanguard target retirement for the relevant year so the glide is handled for OP, but this is a great suggestion too.

vanguard index funds.

the simplest solution is probably a vanguard target retirement fund, which has a mix of us and international stocks and bonds that automatically adjusts as you age.

read 'the intelligent investor.' or listen to the audiobook version on youtube. either way, you will probably lose money or at best fail to beat an index fund return. but if the dopamine rush you'll get from the excitement of it all is worth it to you, then by all means, have at it.
