According to the police report, Gatti “raised his left hand in a ‘Hook-em-horns-‘ like gesture and shouted f**k you n****r” at an officer. Police said he then yelled “I said f*** you, so f*** you” at the officer and “began to flail his arms and jump up and down.” He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and put on probation for four months.
He was back in court on September 15 after he was arrested for allegedly causing a scene and then assaulting a police officer who was trying to break up a loud party. MassLive.com reported at the time that Gatti was charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer. The outcome of that case wasn’t immediately available.
An officer suffered a hand and arm injury during that incident. |

If someone had caught me on a camera phone in my most embarrassing moment of college, it would have just been an embarrassing moment. There is a difference between being an idiot, and being an asshole. To the extent that I can empathize with how someone would feel waking up the next day and having to come to terms with the fact that they just fucked up their whole life and they are only 19, sure. But goddamn, this was a nine-minute long video, and I imagine there were several minutes prior before people began to realize this situation was unfolding and should film it. There were so many chances for the kid to just stop, and mitigate the incident to something that would live on as mild to moderately embarrassing. I also note the fact that he really didn't appear all that drunk. Which actually makes it worse to the extent that it confirms his true character is an asshole. He wasn't slurring his words or stumbling around. If he was shitfaced then it might actually be better in the long run, because then he'd just be like "ARGGHHHGIBMEMAHMACNCHEESE WHY CAN'T I HAVE MACNCHEESE" and flailing around and then just get taken down and escorted out for being wasted and making a scene. Instead you get someone who, very coherently, berates the manager for his job status, calls him a fag and a retard, and assaults him.
