Mike Morse, a lawyer who owns a firm of the same name, donated just over $250,000 to provide 23,000 backpacks to Detroit students, People.com reported. Stuffed with brand new school supplies, the bags got all students -- many who otherwise would have secondhand supplies or nothing at all -- on the same page for the school year.
“I think it teaches them that there are people out there in the community that care about them,” Morse said in a video produced for the law firm. “They want them to succeed, that want them to win at life.” |
