I dont have much inside knowledge or experience, but to me It seems like flame in that they play up how political situations are relevant to businesses (ie their clients) but the actual works seems 180. They basically get paid to learn about geopolitics or a political situation in a country and then advise businesses or write about it in a policy paper.

I was literally just looking at the two you mentioned. Do you know if this is a good career at all? Pay, ladder to 100k, etc? Seems like a good option for s polisci shithead with little options

it's a crappy career at the lower levels. pay sucks, and you do shit work. i mean if that's your only option, and you enjoy geopolitics and political risk, then i guess it's not bad. the senior guys though have it good since lot of them made money in the private sector and are now just chilling.
