Lifehack: Your boss will never actually go and check the rosters, nor will anyone else. Make up a bar number and continue on... if you insist on a life in the law.
Better move though is to just leave.

At a defendant’s trial for stealing an automobile, the defendant called a character witness who testified that
the defendant had an excellent reputation for honesty. In rebuttal, the prosecutor calls another witness to
testify that he recently saw the defendant cheat on a college examination.
This evidence should be
(A) admitted, because the defendant has “opened the door” to the prosecutor’s proof of bad character
evidence.
(B) admitted, because the cheating involves “dishonesty or false statement.”
(C) excluded, because it has no probative value on any issue in the case.
(D) excluded, because the defendant’s cheating can be inquired into only on cross-examination of the
character witness

Tell them you failed and offer to work as a clerk at a reduced rate until you pass. A small firm will jump on this, its cheap labor. I doubt you'll be going to court unsupervised during your first year anyway. You'll be a bargain, they should love you.
Edit: for the rate just say whatever they think is fair. He may not reduce it at all but either way it should keep you from getting fired.
