PDX subsidized Delta to keep a Tokyo route during a downturn and to avoid the more costly option of losing the route. Sonoma (a popular wine tourism destination) subsidized the upfront costs of service from a small airline, which is now successful in the region. The Last One i did not read because ADD.
I think that the fed program I linked is bullshit because of examples like these. |
