Ljl at any nato country going to war with Russia over turkey. The majority of all but the UK wouldn't even go to war if the U.S. Was attacked.
I hope Russia uses this as an excuse to retake Constantinople

Not only has Erdoğan done almost everything he can to cripple the forces actually fighting Isis; there is considerable evidence that his government has been at least tacitly aiding Isis itself.
It might seem outrageous to suggest that a Nato member like Turkey would in any way support an organisation that murders western civilians in cold blood. That would be like a Nato member supporting al-Qaida. But in fact there is reason to believe that Erdoğan’s government does support the Syrian branch of al-Qaida (Jabhat al-Nusra) too, along with any number of other rebel groups that share its conservative Islamist ideology. The Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University has compiled a long list of evidence of Turkish support for Isis in Syria.

Turkey's statement: Claims Russia violated airspace for just "17 seconds" with very slow 243 miles/hour jet.

What military options does Russia have now? Confronting Turkey would be difficult to say the least, as Russia's Air Force assets and Ground Forces in Syria would be in a very precarious position should a serious conflict arise.
Turkey can easily block Russian reinforcements by sea and by air (the Montreux treaty allows Turkey to block the Bosphorus to warring parties, as well as to anyone in peacetime). I would particularly note that Russia apparently delivers jet fuel for its planes by tanker ships from Novorossiysk through the Bosphorus. If Russia decides to deploy more fighters or even starts shooting at Turkish F-16s, Turkey will block Russia's fuel supplies.
Turkey has sufficient force in the region to destroy Russian military assets.
Turkey has sufficient force to defend its territory from Russian retribution.
Turkey can invoke NATO Article V and already has US Air Force stationed in Incirlik.
Not to mention that Russian forces in Syria are surrounded by unfriendlies on all sides - Saudi, Qatari and Jordanian Air Forces to the South, with US, British, Dutch, French, Canadian, Australian Air Forces and others operating over Iraq in the East. A French aircraft carrier just started operating from the West, against the backdrop of American and British Air Forces on Cyprus. Not to mention the most powerful Air Force in the Middle East just to the South in Israel, and the second most powerful - Turkish - to the North, with some US Air Force in between.
Russia has absolutely no options to threaten Turkey with ground forces, and Russian Navy in the Black Sea is kept in check by NATO assets (US destroyers are particularly deadly and can remain effective while entirely in Turkish, Romanian, Bulgarian or Georgian waters). Putin's spokesman just ruled out "military consequences" for Turkey after the attack on Su-24 (Песков отверг возможность военных последствий для Турции после атаки на Су-24).
In summary, the Russian Military seriously screwed up and does not have good options for escalation (which is what Russia typically does after screwing up). I am discounting empty saber-rattling, such as more cruise missile launches at Syrian farms from the Caspian sea (even that would be difficult now because Russia expended most of its long-range naval cruise missiles).

Apparently the plane did cross into Turkish territory, but it's a 2 mile stretch of outlying land, over which the Su-24 spent like a few seconds over.
Turkey is DONE here.

Russian bombers flew off Alaska and California during Independence Day and were intercepted by U.S. Air Force jets.
Twice on Jul. 4, Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers on long-range patrol missions were intercepted by U.S. jets scrambled from airbases located on the West Coast.
According to Fox News, the first security alert occurred at 10:30 a.m. ET when the Russian nuclear-capable bombers flew off the coast of Alaska and two U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor jets were scrambled from their base at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Alaska to intercept the Tu-95s.
The second scramble was ordered at 11.00 when 144th Fighter Wing’s F-15s from Fresno, California, were scrambled to intercept what has been described as another pair of Tu-95 Bear bombers flying off California.
Intercept missions of Russian bombers flying not far from the Continental US (sometimes some hundred miles off) are far from being a routine. In fact, not always are U.S. (or Canadian) fighter jets launched to intercept these “zombies”: in 2014, only 6 out of 10 “incursions” saw U.S. or Canadian aircraft scramble against Moscow’s long-range attack aircraft.
For instance, during the first such incidents this year, on Apr. 22, when two Russian Tu-95 Bear H bombers flew into the U.S. Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), no U.S. aircraft was dispatched to identify and escort the strategic bombers most probably probing North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) response times.
Interestingly, the Tu-95s were launched over the Pacific Ocean on a long-range flight few days after the flight ban (following the mishap that saw a Bear skid off the runway and catch fire at Ukrainka airfield that caused the death of one crew member) was lifted.
