depends on if your house purchase looks like it's done to avoid bk, but if it doesn't look like that, then here's how bk happens
1. declare
2. nigga calculates your assets
3. home equity doesn't count as asset (exempt)
4. bk proceeds
The asset calculation doesn't go retroactive to before you incurred a cost, but if it looks like you made the purchase to avoid paying creditors then the court will buttfuck you IIRC

1. have them drive you to mexican hospital
2. pay $15,000 for heart surgery that's as good as you'd get in a texas hospital.
3. recover and drive back home.
if you get something like cancer, fly to a world class hospital in singapore, india, or thailand and do a full chemotherapy regimen for $15,000 including accommodation.
or, you know, buy insurance.
