Date: February 10th, 2016 12:48 AM Author: cobalt frum point no. either trump or cruz will win. beginning in march, the states have either a 15 or 20% threshold, whereby if a candidate doesn't meet that, he can't get delegates. that will make it a 2 or 3 man race. if no one gets a majority of delegates by the convention, there will be tons of jockeying after the first ballot. unpledged delegates are not bound to support their initial choice, so who knows what will happen. but eventually a nominee will be chosen by the delegates. Once the first ballot, or vote, has occurred, and no candidate has a majority of the delegates' votes, the convention is then considered brokered; thereafter, the nomination is decided through a process of alternating political horse-trading, and additional re-votes.[1][2][3][4] |
