I'm about 10-15 lbs overweight and I run about 15-20 miles per week (at around a 7:30 pace). The reason I run isn't to lose weight, but to stay in aerobic shape so I'm not out of breath after climbing a set of stairs or going for a hike.

The reason I'm overweight is because I eat too much. Plain and simple.

Because long steady state cardio increases your cortisol levels which tanks your Testosterone levels. It also forces your body to start burning through muscle once it goes through glycogen because fat can only be used as energy for slow processes (like walking).

Cardio has to either be relaxed and slow (walking) to burn fat or it has to be balls to the walls for 10 minutes (HIIT like burpees or sprints) because you can't do HIIT long enough to burn through muscle and it releases HGH which is muscle sparing.

This is pretty dumb. If a 30 year old keeps his heart rate around 140, he burns fat. He never burns muscle. You'd have to be really out of shape for 140bpm to be walking.

And it takes like three hours of >150bpm exercise before your body has to decide on a new fuel source.
