OK, I kinda suspect this is flame. She's in her EARLY TWENTIES. You have a long-ass time to shit out some beneficiaries. Two weeks beboppin' around South America isn't going to get in the way of that.
"just don't want her to turn into a shallow person doing things to compete for status"
Either she is, or she isn't. Travel won't change things one bit in that regard. And even people who don't travel will compete for status with respect to house, wedding, babby..... Do you really think a baby's first birthday party is for the kids?!?!
You can always try to temper this by staying in a solid 3-star and flying economy, or going to locations (like SE Asia) where you can do 180 things for cheap.

Does she know that you want to have 6 kids? Is she on board with your plan of having her basically be pregnant for the entirety of her twenties and being a SAHM to an entire rugby team?
These are things that reasonable couples should discuss PRIOR TO marriage, one would think.
Even so, what's the problem with taking one year off, let her travel and be a somewhat normal early-20s girl, and then in one year start trying? You know, COMPROMISE.

Then she needs to grow up. Big families need to be started early, you're 100% right.
With respect to comparisons with her friends, one thing I've learned is that after you graduate college, everyone kind of goes off in their own directions and people aren't on the same conveyor belt. She got married early. Another one of her friends will probably get married at 40. Some may never have kids. Some may die before they get married.
I also don't see the harm in her doing some traveling, even without you (you're going to Japan without her, she can travel without you) before you start working on the family.
Maybe even have some ultra-romantic trip to French Polynesia and knock her up.

What was preventing her from doing this prior to marriage? And what do you have against traveling with her?
I assume she's just talking about spending a week or so in Europe or South America a few times a year (i.e. normal couple trips) and not taking 8 months off to travel around the world solo.
