Your performance is measured by how much in billings your firm collects from clients you sign. If you're the guy's guy who is good at networking and gladhanding the firm's existing client base, you're no good. If you're the guy who is good at being a "practical lawyer", i.e. practicing law and solving client problems, you're no good.
You need to go out there and develop potential business, get that new business to use your firm and pay its bills. And if you leave the firm, you need to make sure that these clients you developed will move with you. |
