There are a few clickbait articles out there on this that were written by showmos and completely miss the mark. I've only been through the first two books, and haven't identified any new Dead references in A Clash of Kings, but have found the following in the first book:

Direwolves obviously

WEIRwood trees, sometimes also referred to as "heart trees" (Hart)

Reference to the White Walkers as "the Others" and expressions such as "the Others take you" (The Other One)

And a number of references drawn from Mountains of the Moon, which itself is sort of a Tolkien-themed song:

- In the book, the Mountains of the Moon lie west of the Vale and are home to the various clans enlisted by Tyrion.

- Several references to carrion crows ("hi-ho the carrion crow..")

- One of the long-dead Northern Kings in Winterfell's crypt, Rickard Stark, is said to have taken the Neck from the Marsh King and married his daughter ("down by the water the Marsh King's daughter...)

Will update as I complete the rest of the books.
