dogs become crazy active at night. they only sleep at night to conform to their owners schedule. they come alive at night, if you let them.

when my family copped a puppy, my mom was a light sleeper and used to get up at night to get water or something. She'd peek in on him in the backyard and he'd be running around playing with toys.

Actually they're crepuscular- most active on dawn and dusk.

Walking them early in the morning and around sunset is CR

My dog sleeps all day and stands guard for a bit around midnight then sleeps until like 6 AM then she's ready to go and wakes me up by dropping a tennis ball on my face cuz she wants to play fetch

My dog would be fucking livid if I tried to walk him at 6. He pees, turns and yanks hard on the leash to go back in, where he pleasantly rests until about noon.

Highest activity from noon-7

Protip: Our sleep schedule isn't natural for humans, either.

Lol @ the idea of early humans falling asleep at midnight and waking several hours past dawn every single day.
