Last week a security guy knocks on my door and informs me that neighbors have complained of my smoking. Today they send out a mass email reminding everyone of the no-smoking policy. What am I doing wrong with regards to covering it up? Are my neighbors smelling it via the hallway or my balcony?

How will my landlord fuck me on this? Just charge more in cleaning fees?

3. Management is warning everyone, because everyone is smoking, and security happened to walk by my unit in the middle of a coughing fit. Not confident on this one, however, as that would be some unlikely timing and they specifically mentioned neighbor complaints.

I might just buy a cheap bowl every month. I've tried cleaning them before but I still have huge wads of tar/gunk that get stuck in the pipe.

Basically you take the cardboard tube that's left over after you use up a roll of paper towels, stuff it with dryer sheets, and put a couple of sheets over one end, using rubber bands to hold them in place.

You will still have smell from the source of whatever it is you are smoking, but when you exhale through the sploof, the smoke just smells like dryer sheets, so the overall odor level is significantly reduced. I had to do this when I lived in cramped shitty apartments.

Might look into a personal air filter -- at least it will cut down on the exhaled smoke, which has to account for the majority of the smoke smell.
