Im planning on stealing some land via "adverse possession". How do I pay tax on

Other states require that you enter the land knowing that you didn't have good title, but thought you could squat your way to it. |

Hostility is a legal term of art in this context and just refers to an exercise of color of right that is fundamentally and irreconcilably adverse to the right of the true owner (i.e., paying taxes--only the true owner of land has the right to pay taxes on that land, so your payment of taxes on it is hostile to his legal rights stemming from his ownership of the land). It has nothing to do with your subjective motive (i.e., good faith vs. bad faith) in undertaking the actions that evidence your claimed color of right.
...but like I said above, this is pretty nuanced shit, I'm sure your lack of familiarity with dumb legal mumbo jumbo like this won't come back to bite you in the ass when Megacorp sues you over this scheme and has a bunch of bitter V5 lawyers whose sole joy in life is fucking people over ghostwrite legal briefs for their aggressive local counsel who goes golfing with the judge presiding over the case over to weeks and owns a timeshare with the appellate judge who will hear the appeal. I feel good about this, you got this brother. |

Somebody tried to stake out tons of land, but he was held to have only adversely possessed the little lot on which he actually built a structure.

Best part is i don't have to live on the land, I onlyhave to only use it in a manner that is expected, so all I have to do is put up a fence and do not trespass signs and clear some brush once a year for 5 years and its mine. Got an 80 acre parcel on a hill with its own little lake
