Being able to afford to live is an issue of survival. An existential issue. Loneliness sucks, but finding someone to fill that hole is a bit higher on Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
All of that said, swipe app dating is one of the most toxic things to ever happen to our society. Online dating wasn't terrible when you had to pay for a monthly subscription and fill out a profile. |
