Instead of having the upper and lower carakoted, check out this 180 looking Hogue stock and grip and ALG handguard:

180. I'm a fan of Magpul as well. Picked up a PSA AR-15 nickel boron BCG and lower build kit (minus buffer/stock) with a 3.5 lb CMC trigger yesterday. I'm trying to choose a stock and it's looking like either Hogue and Magpul. Leaning toward the Hogue.

Also trying to decide on a barrel for that build. I want high quality but don't want to pay for a premium name like Proof Research. In other words I'm looking for value. Any recommendations?

the rail would not be able to be snapped on to a standard handguard with a delta ring, right? I don't want to be fucking around with the gas tube or sawing off the fixed front sight.

That's really neat though - I might go ahead and buy the stock and grip. Thanks.

Yeah you'd have to remove the handguard, delta ring and gas block to install unless you found a purple 2 piece in the appropriate length. It's not difficult and only takes $30-$40 in tools.

i havent painted it yet. It costs more to paint that to buy the rifle.

I was worried I would have to paint it before the assault weapons ban in january, but since the painter is a licensed AW dealer we can leave the rifle with him either way.

wait that's the painting cost, right?

Fuck that. It will look stupid as fuck to paint the actual metal.

Just get the magpul set I link for $120, it looks cool with the black contrasted with the pink. You could probably add on most of it yourself (handguard is a little more tricky, but stock and pistol grip are easy and will take you 5-10 minutes)

Cr. Just buy the furniture. Disassembly is simple, too. I did it without tools the first few times then bought a set of vise blocks for $20.
