Lol at the legions of brand new lawyers who will slave away in a restructuring practice for three years and then be fired because they can't litigate or do deals.

I'm not saying restructuring is a bad practice area. I'm saying that firms are desperately throwing money around to boost their junior/midlevel associate ranks in this practice area, including dragooning litigators and trannies. If you don't have a practice group to go home to when the credit cycle turns in two, three, four years, whenever, then you're going to get Lathamed.

So I'm laughing at current 2Ls/3Ls excited to go into a booming/thriving practice group at the exact moment when they will be worked to death and then not rewarded. It's like being a capital markets associate from the class of 2006. I'm certain XO 2005 was full of threads extolling the virtues of issuance work and the easy exit options. The time to join a bankruptcy group was just prior to ITE, survived the Fed's easy money and be a new partner or senior up for partner now.

And please stop calling it bx/rx. Please justify your cutesy typing slang no one actually uses. But have fun at Kirkland, I guess.

i used to be a proofreader at a biglaw office that did a lot of this sort of work....they just use the contracts from previous deals as a template...not much difference...search and replace names and other nouns etc
