You need to stop thinking of them as emergencies or fire drills. They're just sudden, unexpected times when you need to do your job. So do your job but recognize that a bad outcome might hurt some business unit's quarterly numbers a little bit, but that's very unlikely. You'll relax a little, do better work and have more fun.

also, by then you shouldn't have the same expectation of facetime and can take time out of the office, especially going home at 6 most nights if your hours are good

but you have to earn it and you're in the earning time period, where every sees you as a fungible billing unit. Earn respect and get good assignments and make hours and you suddenly are very valuable. When you're doing that you're making the firm 4-5x your salary. They will let a lot more slide.
