1. Brutally research Galaxy and iPhone prices on Gazelle and Ebay. Make spreadsheet. The Gazelle price will give you a baseline for arbitrage. Ebay 'previously sold' feature gives you a baseline for what to expect for profit. I did this for all conditions: new, used, cracked screen, iCloud locked (lol we all know what this means). 2. Troll craigslist for sellers. I did best in the middle of the night. 3. Hit them with a well-typed email for about $50-80 less than what they want. Tell them I'll drive over from XXX now, cash in hand. This is the important part. These people just want cash. 4. Meet them. Make sure the phone powers on. Check the IMEI # on swappa to make sure its not stolen. Check the model number to make sure it's what they're advertising. Close the deal. 5. Sell on eBay and profit.
Did this for about two months over the summer. Made about ~80 a phone, sometimes $150+ for 'iCloud Locked' ones. Takes a lot of work though and definitely isn't for everyone. These phones are commodities and most people don't know what they're worth. Others just want money for drugs. |
