Our government is completely dysfunctional. The two party system is clearly broken. IMO the constitution needs to be amended- we should move to a popular vote (and NO, I wasn't a Hillary supporter- I've always thought the EC was bullshit), we need term limits in Congress, we need limits on how much Congress can obstruct things just for the sake of obstruction. We need an actual workable solution to healthcare.
Both major parties are garbage.
At this point, power is just going to swing back and forth between Dem and Repub and each party is just going to obstruct/undo the other. That's not governing, that's insanity.
The media is corrupt as fuck and completely biased.
Polarization- The average American is either a bumbling ARE COUNTRY redneck or a whining shitlib pussy. The sane moderates that should be a voice of reason are becoming fewer and fewer.
We will continue to lose jobs due to technology and automation. But then there is the problem of minimum wage- it should be raised, but this causes an issue when it reaches the point where automation becomes more affordable.
Our trade deals need to be re-worked.
Our debit is ridiculously high.
Immigration needs to be addressed.
None of these issues are going to be fixed bc of the way our government is run and extremely high levels of polarization.
So yes, we're fucked. |
