Anyone been at a firm where they announced elevation from Non-equity to Equity partner?

We are doing this with one of our non-equity partners, and most associates know who is equity and non-equity anyway, but curious if this is even announced, and if it is, how.

On kirklands website the distinguish between equity and non-equity (which is closer to a senior associate position than even a counsel position)

I'm sure they make a special announcement when they elevate someone to equity

oh, that's funny. I didn't know they differentiated. Really undercuts the title of partner when you are telling clients on your website that it is practically meaningless.

PC = prof corp. some equity partners are PC's, and others are not. it's up to the individual attorney to set up a PC or not. and a non-equity can be a PC as well.
