They've created an entire industry around talking about the NFL, and the result has been to de-value the actual games themselves. The Broncos won the Super Bowl and were declared "losers" a week later because they lost the all important Brock Osweiler sweepstakes. |

College is the perfect blend of premier athletes and divergent schemes, where there is visible creative playcalling. The NFL has become so complex that it presents as mind numbingly simple.
I had always been confused about why people enjoy watching it so much, until I realized that most people don't actually enjoy watching it. They wanted to see big crashes between dudes, but other than that, could have been reading a ticker tape of the results with little impact. This is why people are so into fantasy, more into the numbers than what's actually going on on the field. |
