Also, women are more emotionally expressive (stereotypically), but anger is an emotion that is more tolerated in men than in women. Hence when we see an angry woman, we notice and remember it more since women get punished more for expressing anger.

Anger in men and anger in women is different though. Men when insulted or slighted are more likely to have an extreme response. That is, they will either not respond and suck it up. Or they will shoot/stab you. Women tend to lash out verbally or with a limited physical response. That is the modal response. So when you see a fight near the checkout register, that is what you are most likely to see.

Even if this is true, I don't think that MEN'S attitudes toward female anger have changed all that much since the 1950s. Even if women feel more "empowered" to act more masculine, or if men expect anger from women more, that doesn't mean that the men of 2016 accept female anger any more than the men of 1950 accepted it.

Many Jewish men I know have trouble making decisions in relationships and look to the women to take the lead. Most doods tend to kinda resent the girls they are dating if they bring up this stuff or try to drive a relationship forward, even if it's done in a reasonable way and after a solid amount of time (i.e. not 2-3 dates), and even if the guys are at least nominally into the girl to begin with.

I've seen doods go from "damn, I'm really into this chick" to "ugh, she wants me to see her more often, it's been two and a half months, next thing she'll want is for me to stop banging strange and doing blow until 4AM."
