Are high IQ people invariably nerdy?

no
a lot of the "nerdy" people are just 110 IQers desperately trying to fit into a clique
some of the highest IQ people I know are chads

i thing it's important to distinguish between social rejects who obsess about anime and computers with the high IQ doods who were building computers in their garages in the 70s, when you had to be a legit engineer with strong math skills to do it
like we're basically conflating steve wozniak with your local HS dropout who plays call of duty but failed algebra
computers have diverged into two different subcultures: one for high IQ types (legit hackers who invent new algorithms and shit) and one for everyone else (low-level enthusiasts, know about video games and hang out on Reddit)
probably a good way to do this is to have different words, say nerds are one and geeks are another
there's a link ITT that goes to a forum where a guy is lumping geeks, nerds, and goons as the same subculture, but aren't goons like 4channers or something? wtf does that have to do with intelligence, scholarship, etc. Any concept that lumps those groups together is a useless concept.
