They had a bump immediately after that missed season because of refs calling everything leading to a ton of powerplays and more goals that way. It's fallen since back close to pre-lockout (strike?) numbers. The problem is what used to be goal scoring opportunities very rarely lead to goals these days. You look at goals guys were scoring in the 80s and early 90s and a lot of them just wouldn't beat goalies now. Date: January 23rd, 2017 1:29 PM Author: maroon 180 site ceo Yeah agrees. Playoffs always fall back to that which is why my Caps don't succeed. Refs also put away the whistles more. Playoff hockey is exciting but I think they need to enforce the rules more stringently. It gets too bogged down IMO.
Also giving a point for OT means the last 10 minutes of tie games are boring af |
