the first part of the decade was SPS, downsizing errywhere, etc. The Go-Slow Nineties.

then the republicans swept the '94 mid-term elections and the economy grew like crazy, also fueled by growth of internet and increased productivity due to faster PCs errywhere (but still SPS microsoft software....)

so the second half of the decade was The Roaring Nineties with stock market heading straight to the moon and underqualified people landing top jobs errywhere.

also, starbucks opened a new store every 2.5 seconds.
