Have lived in both.

OC would be 180 if you could get rid of chain stores and the douche factor.

Which city would you live in? Costa Mesa? Newport Beach? Newport Coast? Corona Del Mar? San Clemente?

Probably Costa Mesa or Laguna.

Newport is too newporty.

San Clemente is beautiful but not much going on.

Shitty parts of Orange County are nothing compared to shorty parts of Los Angeles. I'll take Santa Ana (OC) over Compton (LA) any day.

Can't compare.

City vs. Suburbs.

If you like access to more jobs, culture, smart people, night life you do city.

This is true of LA as well, but OC is just filled with people who just have money.

It's an entire metropolitan area where everyone is rich yet nothing is produced.

How do hundreds of thousands of people "just" have wealth? It couldn't come from inheritance since Orange County only began in the late 1960s... that's when population went up.

inheritance, from family that owned property in California back in the day or from family business, usually a small manufacturer or import / export business.

On average, property in Orange County is more expensive than Los Angeles. Los Angeles has the most expensive houses, but overall, Los Angeles is one giant ghetto compared to Orange County.

Very chill and excellent to raise family. But nightlife sucks. Most jobs are in north Orange County.

True. But traffic on the 405 is a bitch. And most businesses are in major streets that have lots of traffic congestion.
