Long-time Portland brewery lays off more than a dozen staff
One of Portland's largest breweries announced they're laying off 13 people.
Bridgeport Brewery, which is located in the Pearl District, is cutting about half of its brewing staffers. The company says they held off on layoffs for as long as possible, but they have no other choices at this point.
The layoffs are in response to new competition int he craft beer industry. The brewery will begin producing several new beers every week, and they'll redesign their bottles and labels.
Bridgeport has been brewing in Portland since 1984. |
