You gotta be the top VP in legal dept at a fortune 500 to make that kind of money.

The great thing about in house is that you get decent cash ($150k-300k) for 9-5, Monday through Friday work.

I currently make 225k for a very flexible 9-4 in house gig, but feel like I'm underconpensated. I'm looking for 300+. Maybe I'm being unrealistic or my opinion is poorly skewed by Nutella's comp.

it's just a title. some regional bank VPs run the show, same with their counsel. obviously there are usually eight billion levels of VP titling so it's meaningless in a vacuum and just another way of parsing middle-management. the larger the entity the more likely that VP is meaningless unless it has a really flat management structure.

Because they either

a) bought when RE cost a fraction of what it does now;

b) inherited the property or a bunch of cash;

c) got a bunch of family help;

or a combo of the above. LOL @ thinking that because someone owns a place that they bought recently with money they actually earned. Also, a bunch of people overextend themselves on real estate.

You're like a nonsensical woman ranting about why the hell anyone would ever do anything differently in life than she does. You can easily afford that mortgage with $400K coming in. Particularly if you're going to realize any significant gain on a sale.

Now that you're close to making a big boy salary again, don't start wearing your middle-class insecurity like some flaming badge. It's OK for people to use their money differently than what you think is optimal. For instance, spending on retarded, useless 'luxury' SUVs because your Soviet mongrel brain associates them with an upper class posture. Many people think that's not an ultra wise move and your reaction is shrug it off and proffer a hilarious argument about how a 5'6" NYC-based dorky as fuck IT lawyer needs to the ability to go "offroading."

2. Deal with a bunch of in-house guys at really big corporations all the time

3. Get job offer to becum in-house guy

4. Becum one step below head of legal

5. Collect $650K plus sweet equity compensation

6. Make hundreds of smug and self-satisfied posts on zozo alluding to your awesome life outcome because the achievement is worthless to you if racist internet strangers don't acknowledge their envy
