largely true. Do your research. There are legit buyers and sellers who might advertise as "Cash for gold." But youre right, most of these are scams. Check out yelp reviews.
I had a few 1oz kugerands I wanted to sell when gold was really high back in like 2010. I want to say gold was like 2,200 per ounce then. A pwn shop offered me 900 each for my "rare coin" and acted liked they didn't know what it was, lol. A CASH4GOLD place offered me 1100 per coing claiming they were a little smudged and not in "mint condition" ljl. Finally found a place that mainly dealt with watches, but would pay cash for gold and offered me like 2075 or so, which was a fair sell price at the time.
I still lol at the pawnshop spic acting like he didn't know what a kugerand was and the cash4gold jew claiming smudging brought down the price 1000 dollars. The jew actually acted "offended and surprised" when I walked out.
