Will be in Geneva and have a week to explore.

Side trip to Zurich? France?

Never been anywhere near Alps before.

It'll be beautiful.

The northern (Swiss) shores of Lake Geneva and the villages in the vineyards are beautiful, you'll take a train through there if you go anywhere else in Switzerland from Geneva, look out the window even if you don't get out.

The Alps around Interlaken are amazing. Alternatives are near Zermatt, near Verbier, or across the other side of the country around Davos or around St Moritz/Silvaplana.

In the middle of the country (maybe 2 hrs train from Geneva) is Luzern and the lake surrounded by mountains. Again, amazing.

Zurich is a nice city, much nicer than Geneva, worth a day if you have enough time.

EDIT it's a small country, nowhere is more than a small number of hours by train from anywhere else

Interlaken Alps were pretty sweet. Take the train up into the mountains and walk around checking out the wildflowers and smoking weed. They also have all these fountains with mountain spring water everywhere it's 180

I like Bern and Lucerne more than Zurich as interesting cities to visit.

Catching the train up to the top of the Jungfraujoch and seeing the glaciers and snow in the middle of summer is also 180.

GRAUBUNDEN. Do some of the Walserweg hikes. It's heartbreakingly beautiful in the summer

The only place I have ever been to in Switzerland was Lugano and it was beautiful. It was neat being in a place so clean and efficient yet Italian speaking and with some Italian culture
