Yeah, it's top 30, but the finances are brutal.

Between 2011 and 2015, Minnesota had the largest application decline of any top 20 ranked law school—at 50%. Minnesota also had the largest entering class decline—approaching 30%.

Between 2012 and 2015, President Kaler put his money where his mouth was to the tune of $12.45 million dollars in transfers to the Law School to cover their operating losses.

Seventeen percent of Minnesota’s budget comes from state support—do the taxpayers know what’s going on? How can Minnesota justify spending $16 million of taxpayer supported University funds for a law school that reaches fewer and fewer first-year law students?

they need to start firing all the overpaid boomer admins and professors. the dean should be taken out and shot for his incompetence.

not surprising - those schools that look like they might lead to decent employment based on USNWR rankings like MN, IA, etc have shit OCI's. i went to one of these types of schools and the OCI was laughable. it's only regional firms and you get like 'email application' invites from a few V10's for top 5%

schools at that range at least have the option of relaxing standards and either increasing enrollment again or cutting back on giving out so much in scholarship money. some might just have to be willing to take a possible hit in the rankings.

The law schools that have closed have been attached to small, private schools without a ton of resources. Universities that can't afford to carry a money losing subsidiary.

Some of the bigger schools may start thinking twice about this once they see some other schools blazing a trail in shutting down law schools to save money.
