That's like saying you have a general preference for hot versus cold.

That's stupid. Context matters. Hot pizza. Cold beer.

Tile is way cheaper and doesn't get fucked up if your third floor toilet overflows. I picked wood when I remodeled my first house. I wish I went with a natural stone.

It's been a long time but I recall thinking I went highest dollar on my hard wood floor and wondering if I didn't fuck up by instead getting the top of the line natural stone tile. Then the washer went nuts when I was on vacation and I had to do a fucking insurance claim to get some guy to rip out half my kitchen. I will NEVER do wood again.

you are not pricing something right, solid hardwood floors are more expensive on the extremes than tile, 8" slabs of 3/4" oak or even better a semi-exotic wood. make sure you get "sand in" otherwise you're cheating

PROLE TELL: Hardwood in bathrooms

also fwiw i am putting reclaimed wood from my great great grandparents' home (where ggrandmother was born) in my house, 180000

when the ranch was bought and the structures torn down, my grandfather asked to take away the lumber and he kept it for years and then he is letting me use it to build our new house
