Gen Xers laugh at millenials not capable of buying homes but lol they're the ones who bought homes in 2004-2007 when prices sky rocketed and everyone was buying . Then they lost their jobs in 2008, and they needed to sell their homes to make ends meet but it turned out the value of their homes decreased 20-40 percent of the price they paid for. So they had to short sell and got screwed out of their $$

prices are close to what they were in 2007 in a lot of areas now. the only ones who got screwed are the ones who couldn't afford their house in the first place.

i don't understand your "rest of the country" comment. you're implying that california is part of america and not a territory jointly governed by china, mexico, and a handful of tech/hollywood faggots?

Gen X-er here. Bought my first house in '07 near the top of the market.

First five years I was in it, I was scared of having to sell for a loss.

If I sold today, I would nearly double my investment. HTH.

Agreed, especially the people graduating from grad school ITE. They basically ended up fucked professionally. Getting laid off with at least some marketable experience is often salvageable. Never getting a job in the first place just isn't.
