Real Housewives of Orange County might be the most disgusting show I've ever seen.
My girlfriend loves it, and therefore I have to watch it with her. Last night the newest episode came on. If you don't know anything about the show, it's about 5 vapid housewives in Orange County who complain about everything. There is one girl, Gretchen, who is engaged to an extremely wealthy, dying Leukemia patient. She complains in almost every show about how she has no life and spends all her time at the hospital. Well in last night's episode, the girls have a house party. Everyone brings their husband except Gretchen whose fiance can't get out of his hospital bed at this point. Well these bitches then proceed to get Gretchen, their so-called friend, completely wasted, and then encourage her to hook up with one of the women's 20-something sons...which she does. So not only is Gretchen a horrible, disgusting person for cheating on her dying fiance whom she is apparently with only for his money when he dies, but the other housewives are equally disgusting for just watching the entire thing take place, in face encouraging her not to get a cab ride to her house but to instead stay there so she'll hook up with one of the bitches' kids.
And not one time did anyone try to do anything about it. No one said, "Hey, maybe you shouldn't do this to your dying fiance." No. They all, including the producers and cameramen, actually encouraged her to do this. At the end of the episode Gretchen and the son go into a room and shut the door, and the last thing you hear is them whispering to each other before, "To be continued."
So I looked up the show last night to see if it had been outed as fake ala The Hills, and I was surprised to note that filming for the current season must have been completed over 6 months ago, because apparently Gretchen's husband died in September. Great. I hope the show is happy with how this man spent his last months...knowing that the woman he loves cheated on him with a 20 year old kid on national television while he was in his hospital bed dying.
Fuck this show. This might be the most disgusting show I've ever seen. And guess what? They already have two spin-offs, -of New York and -of Atlanta, and they're planning 2 or 3 more already.
I've pretty much decided that this show will never be on while I'm in the room from now on.
Fuck Bravo, too, while we're at it. God I can't believe how low these cock suckers will go for better ratings. |

They select women who are vapid, shallow, catty and materialistic at best and occasionally downright evil at worst and sic them on each other for your viewing pleasure.
If you think they're supposed to be good people, you're missing the entire point of the show. It's supposed to make you feel disgusted and also entertained as you see these soulless monstrosities have feuds, duke it out, make up, vie for dominance, and very occasionally, become redeemed. |
