lot of good comments here
i know a couple of guys in their late 30s doing it, but they are all chads with great metabolisms and high energy levels, and strong motivation, physically fit, don't need lots of sleep and aren't fat.
It is way more physically demanding than you'd expect. You need to be on point, every single day, and it is very high stress and lots of studying. And you very likely underestimate the low esteem that medical students and junior residents are held in in the hospital...you are useless and in the way for years, and are treated as such...it is very psychologically/emotionally stressful.
But if you think you can do it, it's cool once you're on the other side, and you get to see lots of cool shit.
