Your ability to do this has nothing to do with your ability to succeed at practicing any area of law but you have chosen to join a profession that actually values pointless gatekeeping rituals. Your horrible little essays will be graded by an equally ignorant and unimportant practitioner trying to modestly advance their professional prospects through patronage labor to the state bar association. They receive no real training and weren't even particularly capable bar exam writers themselves. They simply signed up for the job and now your short term happiness and potentially your professional future are subject to their petty, sleep-deprived, and capricious natures. You're striving to join the ranks of these soulless assholes, our adult hall monitors. These are the journal board shrews and student bar association dweebs. You actually have something riding on their mood and inevitably subjective appraisal of how quickly you prattled off a bunch of Barbri checklists. You could only begin artlessly downloading your little monkey checklist after you opened by explaining that Tuff Cuff Industries will not be found liable because the plaintiff, Guadalupe, will not be able to demonstrate negligence in her prima facie case. That being said, I don't like it so much that I wouldn't consider getting out if the right thing came along.
And TBF, concerning the OP, I used to constantly harp about the regressive and backwards practices at every level of the legal-academic-professional complex, to the extent that other posters asked me to STFU about it. Law has this servile impulse to keep submitting to brainless old rituals and standards like it all belongs to some coherent intellectual tradition. The bar exam is a big part of that stupidity and I like to bitch about it around test time. |

people with some success will still opine on the flaws of their profession but usually distantly, won't let it gnaw at them, will be distracted from it by productive energy otherwise. sense a bitterness in some of your posts. more so in cowgod's but some in yours. |

Right now it's just donny, gross old FPLB, earl, spaceporn, EPAH, TSINAH, CSG, askav but he doesn't really practice, drunkard, Sotoymaoyor McCheese, DBG, TMF ( sort of), Metal Up Your Ass, magic hat, Iron Monkey, Jim Kelly, zurich_stained, nutella, Ironside, MDH (probably DISBARRED). Circuit City is back but he's transactional and WORKS FROM HOME so he no longer joins us at bar. |
